I'm married to the beautiful Bridget and father to four fantastic kiddos. We plant churches and live in a fifth-wheel camper. I write and smoke a pipe whenever I get the chance. Currently camped in Austin, TX.
“When you and I met, the meeting was over very shortly, it was nothing. Now it is growing something as we remember it. But still we know very little about it. What it will be when I remember it as I lie down to die, what it makes in me all my days till then — that is the real meeting. The other is only the beginning of it. You say you have poets in your world. Do they not teach you this?’” – Hyoi, Out of the Silent Planet (C.S. Lewis)
When we believe into Christ, that is only the beginning of it. “The real meeting” is all the time that comes after. Do we get to know Him more? Do we learn to draw from His life? Do we accomplish His purpose, or are we content with what we get out of it? The believing in Christ is the coming out of Egypt; the living in Christ is the entering into and settling of the Promised Land. And that is the real meeting.
