I'm married to the beautiful Bridget and father to four fantastic kiddos. We plant churches and live in a fifth-wheel camper. I write and smoke a pipe whenever I get the chance. Currently camped in Austin, TX.
If we keep looking for things – the right way to do church, open-participatory meetings, manifestations of the gifts of the spirit, evangelism, great worship, community, fellowship with the saints, etc. – we’ll miss God completely. He’ll be right in front of us, and we simply won’t see Him.
Are you looking for Christ or for your idea of Christ? What about the Church? Have you found what you’re looking for? Have we ever considered what God is looking for? What if our search shifted? What if instead of looking for the many different things we want, we looked for Him? What if we asked Him what He is looking for and endeavored to look for it, too? It’s not about us, it’s about Christ. And when He gets what He’s looking for, in Him, we’ll find what we’re looking for, too.
