I'm married to the beautiful Bridget and father to four fantastic kiddos. We plant churches and live in a fifth-wheel camper. I write and smoke a pipe whenever I get the chance. Currently camped in Austin, TX.
“Real isn’t how you are made. It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.” – The Skin Horse, The Velveteen Rabbit (Margery Williams Bianco)
So often we think that just because we are made in the image of God we can image Him on our own. He is Real. We want to be Real, so we try all of our external activities (out of our making) to be Real. But it takes the work of the Real, the Son, for us to become Real. In Christ, we have been loved, REALLY loved, for eternity past (a long, long time). We become Real, kind of His own kind, as we accept the love and life of Real Himself.
