To the Saints Radio

Back in January, I referenced, and linked to, a new radio program I started hosting with others. Now, I’d like to tell you a little more about it.

My wife and I moved to Austin, TX, back in September. That move originated from a call we both felt from the Lord that He is up to something in Austin. We had no clue what, but after a year of prayer and listening (both individually and with other saints with which we’ve been built together), we finally moved. Within a month and a half of that move, two other families moved here to join the Lord in His adventure. Note, they also moved after some time of prayer and pressing in with other saints. To be here at this time is no arbitrary thing.

That being said, we all spent the first couple of months here just waiting, watching, and listening to the Lord. None of us wanted to force anything. None of us knew really what we’d tried to force, anyway. After a month, my wife and I started a new jobs. Mine is for a local AM radio station. Having previous radio experience, this was a nice fit.

After a while, the idea for a radio program began floating around. It was new, it was scary, it was completely outside of our natural selves, and it was totally the Lord. After weeks of prayer and consideration (again, with other saints, too), we moved forward. We sought the Lord on a name for the program, a length (one hour or two?), and a day and time to air. Most importantly, we sought the Lord on what He wanted to say. What did He want this program to be about? This is of Him, therefore it is from and by Him. Our thoughts and desires wouldn’t suffice. This was all His.

On Sunday, January 15, 2017, To the Saints aired its first program at 3p on The Bridge 1120 in Austin, TX. While it’s only been a few months, we’ve been on the air every Sunday since. The program is a two-hour round-tableish discussion on Christ and His Church. Basically, it is a call to the saints onward toward maturity in Him. We laugh a lot, we see Christ in movies and music, we use movie and music sound clips, and we call spades a spade. It can be uncomfortable for some hear. It can be a breath of fresh air for others.

Here is an audio excerpt from the first program:

And here is an excerpt from Our Purpose from the website:

We have a strong desire to call our brothers and sisters in Christ onward to fullness. To make known the unfathomable greatness of our Lord, Jesus Christ and to help other believers take Him as their all. To show forth more and more of God’s Great Purpose and to draw the saints into His all-encompassing Life. We long to finish the race well, to grow up into the full stature of Christ, and to see the magnificent beauty of Christ fill the earth.

If you’re interested in knowing Christ more, in seeing Him in new and deeper ways, in hearing Him expressed in new and unique ways, then I encourage you to check out the program. It airs Sundays from 3p-5p CST on The Bridge 1120 and online at thebridge1120.com. You can also listen live at tothesaintsradio.com where you can also listen to and download previous programs. Also at tothesaintsradio.com, you can ask us a question, interact with us via the comments, and possibly even support the program. We’d love to have you join us!
